Proprietary trading and quantitative research

A trading desk and quant company based in Central and Eastern Europe.

We trade our own capital. We build systematic strategies, test them before they see risk, and run them inside limits written in code.

What we do

We research systematic strategies and trade them with our own capital.

The firm has two business lines. They share one research environment and one risk system, so every new idea starts with the same data, the same costs and the same limits as the ones before it.

Quant research

We turn ideas into written hypotheses and test them on tick-level and minute-level bid and ask history, with the real spread paid on every trade. Only what survives is considered for capital. The work starts with gold and extends to equities and options.

  • Equities and options · extending

Trade desk

We are building a desk that runs our strategies in the market and manages the book day to day. Risk and compliance report separately from trading, and the desk works inside the same limits as the research.

  • First market · gold

What both lines share

  • More than ten years of tick-level and minute-level bid and ask history, so the spread is paid in every test.
  • One risk system for every strategy, with hard limits fixed in code.
  • Full logging and statements for orders and fills.
  • Positions checked independently against the broker's own records.

How we work

The system, not the mood of the day, decides how much risk we carry.

Four principles shape how we research, trade and build.

Research

Systematic research

A strategy starts as a written hypothesis and a test. We keep what survives costs, spread and data it has not seen, and we keep a record of what we discarded and why.

Returns

Diversified return drivers

We look for several sources of return that do not depend on each other, across instruments and time horizons, instead of one idea made larger.

Risk

One central risk system

Every strategy runs through the same limits. They are fixed in code, monitored continuously, and backed by a circuit breaker that discretion cannot override.

Infrastructure

Built to scale

Logging and statements exist from the first order. Monitoring, reconciliation and audit are designed in, so a new strategy joins controls that are already running.

Limits sit in four layers, so no single check is the only protection.

Position

Caps on the size of any single position and of the whole book.

Loss and drawdown

Limits on losses and drawdown stop new risk before losses compound.

Concentration

Caps on how much risk sits in one instrument or one idea.

Circuit breaker

Halts trading when a limit is breached. It is built to override trader discretion.

Where we are

Our working day covers all of Europe and the start of the US session.

Central and Eastern Europe sits between the Asian close and the US open. The chart shows regular exchange hours converted to Central European Time for today's date.

Exchange hours on Central European Time

Today

Regular trading hours only, shifted for daylight saving in each market. Holidays and lunch breaks are not shown. Gold, our first instrument, trades nearly around the clock on weekdays.
  • Time zoneAsia is closing as our day begins, Europe is open all day, and New York opens in the afternoon. The evening is left for review.
  • PeopleA deep pool of mathematicians, physicists and engineers, trained at universities with long traditions in these subjects.
  • AmbitionWe intend to build one of the leading proprietary trading firms in the region, with research, desk and infrastructure under one roof.

Join us

We are building the team, and we hire for the long term.

We look for people who like hard problems, write careful code and say plainly when an idea has failed. Titles matter less to us than the quality of the thinking.

Research

Quantitative researchers

Mathematicians, physicists and programmers who enjoy testing ideas against data and keeping an honest record of what did not work.

Trading

Traders and execution

People who can run a book from systematic signals, read a live market and respect a limit when it is inconvenient.

Control

Risk and compliance

People who write the limits, build the checks and report separately from the desk.

Operations

Finance and operations

People who keep the books, reconcile every position and make sure the numbers we rely on are the right ones.
